Description
An Automation DC 12V digital delay timer relay Control Switch Relay Module is an electronic timing controller used to automate ON/OFF switching of electrical devices based on a set time delay. It operates on DC 12V power and includes a digital LED display that makes it easy to configure timing parameters.
This module is widely used in DIY electronics, home automation, industrial control, and automotive projects where precise timed control is needed.
Key Features
- 12V DC operating voltage – compatible with many electronics and automotive systems
- Digital LED display – clear timing setup and countdown visualization
- Programmable delay functions – ON-delay, OFF-delay, cycle timing, loop mode
- Relay output – can control high-power devices like motors, pumps, LED lights, fans
- Easy to wire and install – simple 3-terminal or 4-terminal design
- High accuracy – stable timing control from 0.1 seconds to 999 minutes (depending on model)
How DC 12V digital delay timer relay Works
When power is applied, the user sets a delay time using onboard buttons. After the countdown, the built-in relay switches ON or OFF, allowing you to control another connected device.
Typical modes include:
- Delay ON (wait → turn ON)
- Delay OFF (turn ON → wait → turn OFF)
- Loop/Cycle mode (repeating ON/OFF cycles)
- Trigger mode (relay activates when an external signal is received)
Setting Instructions & Working Mode Selection (P1-1 to P1-4)
How to Enter Working Mode Selection
- Power on the module.
- Long-press the K1 button for 2 seconds.
- The screen enters function selection mode.
- Use the K1/K2/K3 buttons to scroll and select P1-1 to P1-4 working modes.
- Press K1 again to confirm the mode.

DC 12V Digital Delay Timer Relay Working Modes Explained (P1-1 to P1-4)
P1-1 — Delay ON (Power Delay Start)
- When the module is triggered, the countdown begins.
- After the set time T, the relay turns ON.
- The relay stays ON until power is removed.
Use case:
Soft-start delay, pump/motor start delay, lighting delay.
P1-2 — Delay OFF (Auto Power Off Timer)
- When triggered, the relay turns ON immediately.
- After the set time T, the relay turns OFF automatically.
Use case:
Auto-off timer for fans, lights, chargers, DIY automation.
P1-3 — Trigger Reset Delay
- Trigger activates the countdown.
- If triggered again during countdown, the timer resets and starts over.
- After time T, the relay turns ON/OFF based on user settings.
Use case:
Debounce control, repeated trigger filtering, automation reset logic.
P1-4 — Cycle (Loop Timer Mode)
This mode creates a repeating ON/OFF cycle.
- Set T1 = relay ON time
- Set T2 = relay OFF time
- Relay cycles ON → OFF → ON → OFF continuously
Example:
- T1 = 5 seconds (ON)
- T2 = 10 seconds (OFF)
- The relay will loop forever: 5s ON → 10s OFF → repeat
Use case:
Flashing lights, irrigation pumps, ventilation fans, periodic charging cycles.
How to Set the Time (T, T1, T2)
- After selecting your mode (P1-1, P1-2, etc.):
- Press K2 to adjust the digit position.
- Press K3 to increase the value.
- Hold K3 to scroll faster.
- Press K1 to save.
Timing range:
-
0.1 seconds to 999 minutes (depends on module version)
