Description

This fully assembled and tested board comes with a 20-20KHz electret microphone soldered on. For the amplification, we use the Maxim MAX9814, a specialty chip that is designed for amplifying electret microphones in situations where the loudness of the audio isn’t predictable.

Getting started with MAX9814 Microphone amplifier Module AGC

The microphone amp is thankfully quite simple to get started. No microcontroller or programming required. We suggest wiring it up directly with a battery pack and headphones to start while you get a hang of how the AGC acts and responds.

Step1: Hardware required

Step2: Connecting the hardware

let’s begin with the MAX9814 Module this module has 5 pins let’s see how we are going to connect them on the table below

after connecting the module let’s add on the female audio jack so that we may plug the headphones and hear something that are around us, so connect the female audio jack as shown below

after connecting we are going to test our MAX9814 module!!

Step3: Testing

Connect the earphones in the female audio jack as shown below

Now try listening the sound from the headphones, you should notice a strange ‘effect’ where you can hear people from further away than your hearing is used to! you can change the gain according to your wish!! so that’s it!! you can do different thing using this module so think big and make good!!
